As a social justice advocate, I am always looking for ways to support marginalized communities and work with them to improve their wellness and achieve their goals. I am so happy to be part of a movement to bring awareness to and highlight the undocumented community. Too many times, educators, clinicians, and other providers are unaware of how to best support the undocumented community. I aim to increase multicultural competencies in the areas of working with undocumented individuals. One area I address is career counseling with this population. It is extremely important to support the undocumented community with understanding their status and their career options. I helped to start a scholarship for undocumented counselors-in-training.
